Sunday Night News

Dear LaGuardia Community,

We’ll make this brief because this is a busy time of year for all of us. We are thankful. If you want to know why, just continue reading the Sunday News. There’s nothing out of the ordinary this week; it’s your typical Sunday News, with information about the extraordinary accomplishments of our students that happen on a weekly basis – in every field. That’s exactly why we’re thankful, because at our school the extraordinary is ordinary!

We wish you all a happy and healthy Thanksgiving…and now on with the News!

The Good News is…
we are selling out for all “In the Heights” performances!

Let’s Give a Well Deserved Shout-Out to the Girls Swim Team!
Take a look at this great group picture of the A levels finals!

According to our staff of intrepid field reporters: “The 200 IM got 16th place and the 200 Free got 9th place. A few girls also placed in top 10. To get to the A levels they had to beat out 280 girls. In the B finals there were a bunch of high places in top ten.

Let’s support our amazing Girls Swim Team!
They are hoping to attract more team members for next year when they hope to see everyone at the City School Finals!
…and in Fencing News!

On Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Townsend Harris High School, the LaGuardia Athletics Boys Varsity Fencing Team made a valiant effort in Round 1 of the 2014 PSAL Boys Team Fencing Championships against Cardozo High School’s team.

Though the result was 45 to 32 in Cardozo’s favor, the team still celebrates making the Championships for 2 years in a row now.

A bittersweet celebration of the team’s advancement this season continues with a special honoring of the Seniors, Jhakai Deshong (Foil Captain), Pascal Jadot (Epee Captain),Scott Bamford, Noah Chidoub and Samuel Peters. Their presence will be missed next season, though their continued support has been promised.

Stay tuned for next year’s Season!
