6:00 PM for Studio Meetings
7:00 PM for General PA Meeting
In honor of Veterans Day, and in recognition of our school’s proud history, we thought you might enjoy a trip back in time to May 2, 1937. You’re looking at the Father Duffy statue in Times Square (still there!)
The caption to the photo reads: “New York Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia dedicates the statue of Father Francis Duffy, the World War I chaplain of the New York Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion 69th Infantry in Times Square on May 2, 1937. He died on June 27,1932 and his death was mourned city-wide. The area around his statue in Times Square is now known as Duffy Square.”
When you walk into the Little Flower Theater tomorrow (named, as you know, for “Fiorello” or “little flower” in Italian) take a moment to appreciate the amazing legacy we are carrying on!
