START PREPPING for AP COURSE FINAL EXAMS* at a DISCOUNTED RATE!

The Academic Forum has arranged for LaGuardia students to receive 15% off any COMPASS AP group course review and 25% off Compass AP practice tests (including their Spring checkpoint) using the code ACADEMICFORUM. The usual price is $395 per course.

The best way to track how you are  truly doing in an AP class is to take an AP practice exam. Strong results on AP tests result in greater acceptance rates to college and often eliminate the need to take certain course requirements at certain colleges. Classes start in early April and the tests are given in May. Please check HERE for further information or reach out to Torsten Sannar torsten@compassprep.com for assistance.

SUMMER SAT/ACT PREP COURSES* at a DISCOUNTED RATE!

Academic Approach is offering a summer, virtual ACT or SAT Prep Course to LaGuardia students. These courses help students improve their score growth by reviewing key skills sets in reading, writing, math, and science. This course is best suited for rising seniors who plan to retake a test in the fall or rising juniors who wish to get a head start on prep. The course includes 20-hours of instruction, 1 full-length practice test, and additional study materials. The discounted cost of the course to LaGuardia students is $400.** For more information, including schedule and registration details, click HERE. The deadline for registration is June 1st!

AA also offers one-on-one tutoring at a 10% discounted rate to LaGuardia students. Contact meagan.moore@academicapproach.com for details.

*UWorld.com also offers excellent self-directed SAT/ACT and AP Finals test prep courses for $150 for three months and $100 for one month. Kahn Academy is also another great prep resource for these tests and is free.

**The Academic Forum will provide financial aid for families who are unable to afford fee for the AA course. This is offered one time per test prep support during high school. Please contact us at academicforum@laguardiahspa.org.

Senior Trip

The senior trip is still in the planning stages, but here is what we know so far:

Location: Six Flags

Date: Tentatively the first week in June. Date has to be approved by the administration.

Cost: The PA is trying to subsidize the trip with money raised by senior class parents. We are trying to keep the cost to $50-$60 per student but this is not confirmed yet. This would include the cost of the amusement park ticket, bus, food & drink.

Confirmation and more details about this trip probably will not happen until April.

Other Senior Activities

The SGO (Student Government) is trying to plan some smaller senior activities too, but nothing has been finalized yet. If your student has a suggestion, please have them reach out to SGO leadership.

Teacher Thank Yous!

Please have your student take some time to write a nice Thank you note to teachers who wrote them college recommendation letters or helped them prepare for auditions. These teachers were not paid to do this, but did it because they believe in your student. It would mean a lot!
