"Diwali is synchronized with the lunar calendar so the actual date varies from year to year. Diwali typically falls between October and November.

Deepavali or Diwali is known as the “Festival of Lights” and is a Hindu holiday widely celebrated in India, in South Asia, and across the Hindu diaspora.

The word ‘Deepavali’ derives from Sanskrit and means “row of lights.” Festivities include the illumination of lights, candles, firecrackers, and diya (clay lamps) to symbolize the victory of good over evil, inner light over spiritual darkness, and knowledge over ignorance. Diwali is a time for gathering with loved ones, celebrating life, and committing to making the right decisions in life."

THE CLIVE DAVIS INSTITUTE - FUTURE MUSIC MOGULS

The Clive Davis Institute offers an entirely FREE Saturday workshop called Future Music Moguls. It meets in their state-of-the-art facilities at 370 Jay Street in Brooklyn for 14 weeks, from February 1st through May 10th.  The Spring Future Music Moguls program is FREE of charge and for groups traditionally underrepresented in the music industry. With a strong emphasis on current issues and rising trends in the distribution and delivery of music, students learn about music entrepreneurship and are exposed to career guidance that can be applied to a wide range of future activities, music related or otherwise.

Application deadline November 11, 2024.  Future Music Moguls is part of NYU Tisch School of the Arts' programming for high school students. When applying, students should select the "2024 Tisch Spring Future Artists" application in the portal.
