Happy Music Monday, Music Studio Families!

It's the last day of September and Autumn is beginning to show her beautiful colors! We hope you are enjoying the change of season.

1ST IN-PERSON GENERAL MEETING - NEXT TUESDAY

The Music Studio warmly invites you to our first in-person general board meeting, which is now taking place on Tuesday, October 8, at 6PM (instead of October 9th as previously mentioned) in the library, located on the 6th floor.

At 6pm parents will have the opportunity to meet and greet each other, followed by a presentation from AP of Music, Ben Schott at 6:30pm. We will also be joined by instrumental and vocal SGO members, and we will have musical performances by instrumental and vocal students!

Light refreshments will be served and a limited selection of merchandise will be available for purchase.

You don't want to miss it!

We look forward to seeing you!

LaG Gospel Choir at Riverside Church
Celebration and Remembrance

On September 22, Pastor Terrance L. Kennedy (a former LaG student) and The Reach Music Ministry celebrated the 65th anniversary of the New Hope Church at the historical Riverside Church. Members of the LaGuardia Gospel Choir, led by Dr. Daryl Jordan, were invited to perform a tribute to two former LaGuardia students who passed away this past summer; Demetrius Griffin and Elder Keith Branch. The Gospel Choir performed two songs; Remembering and Peace. There wasn't a dry eye in the nave.

All applications are judged by esteemed discipline-specific panels of artists through a rigorous blind adjudication process, and award winners are offered a lifetime of artistic support and ongoing connection with an extraordinarily robust network of peers and mentors. FROM THE TOP Scholarship Opportunity

The Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award is a one-time, non-renewable, need-based grant of up to $10,000 given in conjunction with full participation in From the Top's Learning and Media Lab Fellowship

Each year, From the Top chooses approximately 20 pre-collegiate musicians ages 8-18 to receive the Award. The Award is given to driven and committed pre-collegiate musicians with financial need to help offset the often prohibitively expensive costs of studying classical music at a high level.

An application for the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award is also an application to From the Top’s Learning and Media Lab Fellowship program. You do not need to complete two separate applications. See the "How To Apply” section for more instructions.

You are eligible if you are: classical instrumentalists, vocalists, and composers (ages 8–18) who are full-time elementary, middle, or high school students, and have not yet entered college.

High School seniors graduating in 2025 must apply by November 15, 2024 in order to be considered for the award before graduation.
