Romeo and Juliet
by William Shakespeare
Directed by Jonathan Davidson
May 21-24 at 7 p.m.
A futuristic take  on the classic tale of star-crossed lovers.

From the Cast and Crew…
In R&J 2100, we hope to challenge you to imagine what our future might look like if we continue abusing our environment and insist on prioritizing the well-being of our own perceived tribes at the expense of human beings whom we deem as being “other.”

We also hope you will find, in the bravery of our young lovers and those who support them, a glimpse of what our world might be like if we can follow their lead and allow love to take hold of opposing forces and make space for balance and harmony to settle in. It is always the young people that lead the way, in terms of having a vision for a better future and being willing to sacrifice and put themselves on the line in order to make positive change.

POSSE SCHOLAR NOMINATIONS

JUNIORS, POSSE NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN and FORM IS DUE MAY 31ST

We are pleased to announce that the window to express interest in a POSSE or POSSE ARTS nomination is now open! Juniors, if you think you would make a strong POSSE candidate and want to be considered for a nomination to this Early Decision scholarship. Please complete one of the Google Forms below.

Please fill out only ONE form. Choose between POSSE ARTS and TRADITIONAL POSSE. Please read all directions carefully and do your research!

PLEASE ONLY FILL OUT ONE FORM:

You must express interest in a nomination no later than Friday, May 31st. We have both traditional liberal arts nominations and arts nominations. Please note that getting a BA in the arts is possible at the traditional POSSE schools. Students nominated for the arts program opportunity that do not get accepted will not be considered for other POSSE programs.

  • Learn more about POSSE. NOTE that NY only partners with a subset of the partner schools. If you review the options and are not open to attending any, POSSE is not the right fit for you.
  • If you plan to apply to Questbridge or any other Early Decision program, POSSE may not be the right fit for you. Eventually, you will have to choose ONE and you will need to communicate with both programs honestly and keep them updated as things progress.
  • POSSE ARTS Information: nomination information and general information
  • Early Decision is binding!

  • Short Video

If you have ANY questions about the LaGuardia POSSE nomination process, please reach out to Ms. Blum: eblum2@schools.nyc.gov.
If you have questions about traditional POSSE, you can email: newyork@possefoundation.org.
*If you have any questions regarding the California Institute of the Arts, art nominations, art specific student open houses, and/or the arts interview process, we ask that you please contact: arts@possefoundation.org.*

A big part of being a successful nominee is to have a good handle on filling out forms, meeting deadlines, and staying organized. The deadline to express interest so LaG will have time to review your application for nomination is May 31st.
