MANHATTAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC PRECOLLEGE JAZZ PROGRAM
The MSM Precollege Jazz Program has a unique and comprehensive curriculum, including weekly private lessons, jazz-specific classes in ear training and music theory, ensembles, and multiple performance opportunities each semester. Manhattan School of Music's Precollege jazz Arts program is an intensive and enriching environment for serious jazz students. Students work closely with a distinguished faculty of active performing artists in a Saturday program at the Manhattan School of Music in the Morningside Heights neighborhood.
MSM Precollege will be holding mid-year auditions for the Jazz Arts program, a unique and intensive Saturday program for intermediate to advanced middle and high school students.
Auditions will be held at the Manhattan School of Music on Saturday, December 2nd, with an enrollment date of January 20, 2024, for accepted students. Financial aid is available.
The audition is open to students on the following instruments: Trombone, Saxophone, Trumpet, Double Bass
*Additional jazz instruments (piano, drums, clarinet, violin) are invited to audition in May for fall 2024 enrollment.*

THE B-SIDE AT CARNEGIE HALL
The B-Side is a program for young people (ages 14-22) that provides an entry-level look at different career opportunities in the music industry. Whether participants are aspiring artists or future music-industry leaders, this program will provide essential industry related skills, and connections with performing artists, music industry executives, accomplished producers, songwriters, and more. You do not need to be a musician to apply. The B-Side is open to any young person who is interested in learning about the music industry. Apply by January 4, 2024

CRESCENDO
An All Strings Orchestra Made Up of Only NYC Students ages 10-18

Launched at the start of the 2023-24 season, Crescendo is the NYYS's newest program, designed for NYC string players aged 10-18. Led by Tantchaya (Tanya) Chanphanitpornkit, this free program provides access to outstanding music education for a diverse range of students. In addition to weekly ensemble rehearsals, students receive coaching from the Aizuri Quartet, artist-in-residence, workshops, and masterclasses with professional musicians; plus, guidance on topics including audition preparation, audience engagement, careers in arts, and festival & college admissions.
MET ORCHESTRA MASTER CLASSES 2023-24
Since its founding in 1883, the MET Orchestra's performances have encompassed not only the entire opera's repertoire, but symphonic and chamber programs at Carnegie Hall, international tours, and countless musician activities outside of the Metropolitan Opera House. FROM THE TOP Scholarship Opportunity
For any dedicated young musicians with financial need, in need of funds to support an instrument purchase, regular private lessons, or summer program tuition, students can apply for the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award. From the Top’s need-based award of up to $10,000 given in conjunction with full participation in From the Top’s Learning and Media Lab Fellowship.
- High School seniors graduating in 2024 must apply byNovember 15, 2023 in order to be considered for the award before graduation.
NYO-USA
Each summer, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute (WMI) brings together the brightest young players from across the country to form the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA), a free program for all participants. Following a comprehensive audition process and a multi-week training residency with leading professional orchestra musicians, these remarkable teenagers embark on a tour to some of the great music capitals of the world while serving as dynamic music ambassadors.
