Parent Teacher Conferences will be held remotely, and families schedule specific appointments with teachers.  We have allowed teachers to stagger their schedules to make scheduling appointments easier for families.  If there are no appointments with a teacher available, please reach out to the teacher and set up an appointment for the following week. Click HERE to schedule an appointment.

NEW INFO ON TEST PREP!

Academic Approach* is offering a virtual ACT or SAT Prep Course to LaGuardia students in preparation for 2024 tests . The courses are aimed at helping  students improve  their score growth potential by reviewing key skills sets in reading, writing, math, and science, and their application on the college entrance exams. The course, which starts in January, includes 24-hours of instruction, 2 full-length practice tests, and additional study materials. The cost of the course is greatly reduced for LaG students at $400. For more information, including schedule and registration details, click HERE.

• Complimentary practice tests for both the SAT and ACT to assess your students’ strengths and weaknesses.

FOR JUNIORS WHO TOOK THE RECENT PSAT TEST: Your scores will post on either November 6th or 16th. Compass Education* founder, Adam Ingersoll, is hosting strategy sessions that correspond to each release date (11/8 & 11/16, but feel free to join either event). Click HERE to register. He’ll share the latest insights and updated forecasts as the role of testing steadily regains significance in competitive contexts. You will learn how to decipher nuanced test-optional guidelines and make the most advantageous testing-related decisions for your particular college admission goals.

What an amazing week! 

Thanks to your generosity, 5 classroom projects were funded last week:

• Mr. Domench is receiving wire and wire cutters to help students build sculpture armatures
• Mr. Domench is also receiving hot glue guns and glue sticks to help students build cardboard animal sculptures
• Ms. Healy is receiving sheet music and scores from classics and current Broadway hits to expand the library repertoire
• Ms. Kim is receiving large cardstock and printer ink to help students make posters and graphic design projects
• Mr. Rahman is receiving a multipurpose laptop with accessories to be used as an interactive tool in the classroom

Teens Open Studio at The Whitney A free art-making program on select Fridays: 11/3, 11/10, 12/1, 12/8. Work with contemporary artists to create and learn new techniques with art projects inspired by The Whitney’s exhibitions and collection.
