A Message From The Coordinator of Instrumental Music
Concerto Competition

The instrumental music studio is pleased to announce that the preliminary round of the LaGuardia Concerto Competition for 2024 will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd. The final round of the competition will be held on Tuesday, October 10th in the concert Hall. The Concerto Concert is scheduled for March 27th, 2024.

As a reminder, a concerto is a piece of music for a solo instrument or instruments accompanied by an orchestra.

Only returning students are eligible to compete.

When choosing your repertoire there are a few things to keep in mind.

  • Be sure the orchestral accompaniment is available to purchase or rent.

  • Choose a movement of the concerto. If the entire concerto is less than 15 minutes you might be allowed to perform the entire work. Check with me if you have any questions.

Sign up to compete HERE

Be in contact with me at JMeyers7@schools.nyc.gov if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Mr. Meyers

Coordinator of Instrumental Music
