New welcome text

Dear LaGuardia Families,

The LaGuardia High School Parents Association (LaG PA) would like to welcome all of our LaGuardia families to the 2019-2020 school year!  We are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to our new incoming Freshman and Sophomore families. We are delighted to introduce Ms. Yeou-Jey Vasconcelos as our Principal.  Our students have worked hard to join the LaGuardia HS Community. They are choosing to commit themselves to the daily exploration of their craft through rigorous conservatory training along with the pursuit of academic excellence.  They are the brightest stars of the future. We are all so fortunate to be a part of the LaGuardia High School Community!

The first day of school is Thursday, September 5th, 2019.

We encourage every LaGuardia family to:

  • Sign up and stay connected.  Please sign up to receive emails from the LaG PA. The school has your information, but you will not receive any emails from the LaG PA or from your Studio unless you sign up with the LaG PA.  Sign up today at:
  • Volunteer with us!  Whether you’re available once a week, once a month, or once a year, please fill out our volunteer questionnaire, and we can match you with an activity to suit your schedule.  Team up with other LaGuardia parents in your borough who share your interests in our school. Go to:
  • Consider GIVING to the LaGuardia PA Appeal AND to your student’s Studio Appeal.

Through your generosity the LaGuardia PA minimizes the impact of long-standing DOE budget gaps in our children’s education. The teachers and administrators work diligently to make ends meet budgetarily.  LaGuardia HS educators rely on the LaG PA to bridge the gaps in funding from the NYC DOE.

Please consider giving TODAY at OR send a check in the enclosed DONATION ENVELOPE.  Your donation to the LaGuardia Parents Association directly supports your student and the entire school community.  See the reverse side for a message from your child’s studio and other important information.

DANCE STUDIO – Meetings in room 857

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year from the Dance Studio Parents Association!  There are many ways that parents can support our dancers and the LaGuardia Dance Studio.  Come to our regular monthly Dance Studio Meetings to meet and talk with other Dance Studio Parents and Faculty.  Meeting topics will include: Summer Dance Programs, College & Career Planning, along with valuable information from the Dance Studio and the Dance Community.  Most Dance Studio volunteer opportunities run from December to June, when your help will be very appreciated! Funding from the school does not cover all of the expenses of the studio.  Your donations provide support for the Dance Studio including; funding the Dance Musicians who are in the classrooms daily, Choreographers, Master Classes with guest instructors, and so much more.  We look forward to getting to know you this year. Welcome to the Technical Theater Studio and the 2019-2020 school year!  We might be the smallest studio, but we make a tremendous impact! Our students give their time and talent to every production, across all studios.  In doing so this gives them an exceptional opportunity to learn from a myriad of professionals and peers putting their lessons into practice starting freshman year.  Our active and tight-knit Parents of Tech Students (POTS) enhance our students’ experience by attending Tech Studio meetings, volunteering whenever possible and donating to the Technical Theater Studio Appeal. These donations help cover the cost of equipment, supplies, external consultants and more.  Let’s get this new year in the Tech Studio off to a great start! Make sure to stay in the loop by signing up for emails:
