Dear LaGuardia Community –
Wow… talk about turning in your homework late late LATE! I have so many good excuses though…
Anyway… so sorry for the delay in getting out the news, but I chaperoned the Frost Valley field trip this past weekend (which was just great — no phone service! spotty, slow WiFi and only in the dining hall! Heaven!) and came

home with too much to do and not enough time to do it. So HERE’s my belated (but, hopefully, beloved) Tuesday edition ofNews from the PA.
What did I learn on the AP Environmental field trip? Besides all about the watershed, and the reservoir system (not to mention real, live… and some dead… wildlife and spectacular starry night skies)? That our LaGuardia kids are just the BEST! (And our teachers, staff, and parents are pretty darned swell as WELL!) But the staff at Frost Valley went on and on about how great our kids are. Smart. Open to new ideas and

adventures. And “nice.” They see a lot of school groups, but they told me they always look FORWARD to having our LaGuardia groups. Isn’t that a great thing to hear? And I must say a word about how special our teachers and staff are to give up their personal time (on a weekend, no less) to make sure our kids have this kind of great experience. (And, as always, a special THANKS to science teacher Mr. Neal Singh for spear-heading this trip for the past four years… Bravo!) And PARENT CHAPERONES… you are totally awesome and this kind of event could NOT HAPPEN without you AND without ALL of the generous contributions of our entire LaGuardia High School community.
Which brings me to my next plug… FUNDRAISING!
The LaGuardia GaLa! online auction is still going on (and if you STILL HAVE DONATIONS send them to
lagdonate@gmail.com TODAY and they can still be part of the auction!) Every dollar we earn goes to subsidize things like the Frost Valley trip and enables every student who wants to go to have that opportunity. So go the auction website and BID. You’ll get a great deal, and you’ll be helping our wonderful kids while you do it! Share the link with friends & family.
